DoMO Hymn Contest (Prizes to win!)

My dear guildians,

as I already promised: here comes the first off-game event / contest.

What’s it about?

I want you to write lyrics to this song! It’s DoMO-music and has a nice rhythm that goes well along with the speech.
The goal is to compose something like a national hymn for the world of DoMO or a theme for Phoenix Ignited, an invitation for other players to join us. Best thing would be a combination of both.

Please try to look after
- Rhtythm and metrics
- Try to rhyme if possible
- Correct setting of the syllables (so that the accent is set on the right parts of the words etc.)

Preferably, the lyrics are in English. If you rather write them in your mother’s toungue, please add an accurate translation.
Fair to say is though that non-English lyrics won’t be fit for a DoMO-hymn and have low chances of winning the first price. But if you sing yourself, you may win in another category.

The jury on this event will be… myself, because I plan to sing the winning lyrics eventually. But be assured that I will consult with Laphire, too. The last decision will be mine, nevertheless. That is why Laphire is excluded from this contest. Sorry, darling!

The criterias of appraisal will be:
- Singableness
- Epicness oft he lyrics
- Rhyming
- Non-pathetic praise of the DoMO World and Phoenix Ignited#

Special Prize 1: Sung yourself
For participation with an audiofile. All sung particiapations also take part in the regular contest.

Special Prize 2: Hilarious!
For funny lyrics, if you don’t like it serious.

All participants will get consolation gifts so that the effort was not in vain.

All prizes are only awarded if there are an adequate numer of participants.
Means:
Regular prizes are only awarded if at least 6 participants join the contest.
Special Prize 1 needs at least 8 participants. Special Price 2 needs 10 particiapnts.

does it have to be about PI or domo?
I can make some really cool songs about pineapples and stuff

It's gotta be about DoMO and / or Phoenix Ignited.

Good point. But that means I'll have to do some more advertising in the guild, doesn't it? This forum needs to be more active, anyone of you can help to achieve that!

1.- you said there's a melody...but if I dont like the melody?

Well, then, that's a pity! I have my reasons why I gave you a melody to work with. I need to have something I can compare. I like the melody and I don't wanna judge the people on their choice of music, because that would be unfair. Everyone has different likings and if I'd let YOU choose the footage, then you'd be dependent on my taste of music. I think that would be bad.

2.- why cannot just everyone make their own melody? (Virtual DJ + a lots of programs = enough to make one)

Not everyone is a composer and most people have never heard of the programs you mentioned.
And composing would be an even harder contest. I wanted it to be something everyone can participate.

3.- are allowed multiple entires? for example, one fast, one slow etc etc?

YES for the lyrics, but NO for composing. If you feel like posting more than one pair of lyrics, feel free to do so. But only ONE of you entries will join the contest - the one that I like best.

4.- what kind of songs-poems-hymns are allowed?

I fear I do not understand this question. I personally prefer songs that tell stories or so if you mean it that way. But of course poem-like entries are allowed.

5.- what if I have a strong voice? can I edit my voice?

Er... yes. Though strong voices are not bad, I think XD

6.- photomontage?

What for? O.o this is an audio-related contest.

question 4: Agressive, romantic, etc etc, here in Mexico, the hymn of Mexico is about some things of war and at same time, heroism, brotherhood etc etc

Yeah, yeah. The German hymn is about unity, justice and freedom. I'd like to have some of these elements in the lyrics too, but it is no MUST.
If you'd like your hymn more aggressive, feel free to do so.

PD: here in Mexico, there is a right that allows freedom of expression...so please, not try to silence me or ignore me, because it would violate my rights
